KATHERINE
All right, so I'm just busting out of the social pages. But you give me the exclusive. let me run with the story, and I promise I'll get you the space. Give me a chance - you help me and I'll help you.

JACK
Listen...Pulitzer thinks we're gutter rats with no respect for nothin', includin' each other. Is that who we are? NO! For the sake of all kids in every sweatshop, factory, and slaughter house in this town, I beg you...throw down your papers and join the strike.

MEDDA
Just remember, Jack, when you go somewhere and it turns out not to be the right place, you can always go somewhere else. But if you're running away from something, no where's ever the right place.

PULITZER
I trust you know my daughter. Katherine. Yes. My daughter. You are probably asking,, why the nom de plume? I offered Katherine a life of wealth and leisure. Instead, she chose to pursue a career, she wanted to do it on her own.

Prepare ONE Audition monologue from below:

ARCHIE: Hi ! You’re the new kid, right? I’m Archie.  I pass by your house every morning when you’re waiting for the bus.  See, I’m on the special needs bus - cause of my crutches.  I have a degenerative neuromuscular disorder.  It’s okay, at least no one makes fun of me on the special needs bus. That’d be Ironic.

PATRICE: Evan, wait.  Before you pass the invitations out to your Bar Mitzvah….If those guys know I'm coming, there won't be any party.  I’ve been trying to tell you for the last month, they hate me.  How do I know?  They write “we hate you” on my locker.  Look,  I don't read what they read, watch what they watch, shop where they shop or think like they think ….and neither do you.  Trust me, you should stay away from those guys.

EVAN: My name is Evan Goldman.  I live at 224 West 92nd Street, in the heart of Manhattan, and my life just went to hell.  You wanna talk about turning 13?  It’s a nightmare.  First of all, my parents are splitting up.  Second of all… (points to a pimple on his chin) ... can you see this?  What is THIS?  What did I do to deserve that?  Twelve years old and everything that used to be good as gold starts to crumble and crack!

LUCY: (trying to convince her friend Kendra not to date Brett)
Hey, I had an idea!  Why don’t you go out with that kid Daniel from church instead of Brett….  I’m just worried that maybe you’re not ready.  Brett’s the hottest boy in school.  You need to work your way up to a “Brett.”  Plus, Brett asked you to the movies for one reason only.  He wants to do “The Tongue!”  And trust me, you won’t like it.
