Pre-K Music Lessons

Music Lessons for Children ages 3-5

Children who learn foundational musical skills in their preschool years are well-prepared to learn to sing, act, or play musical instruments at a young age, and may benefit in development of their speech and reading.

PPAC’s pre-K private music lessons focus on:

  • Tuning the ear to match pitches using the solfeggio singing method

  • Playing foundational rhythms on a drum (quarter, half, whole, eighth, and rests)

  • Introductory piano

  • Reading music notation

  • Developing enjoyment and feel for music

Pre-K music lessons are taught by Naomi Woods who also teaches piano to children of all ages.

Lessons are 30 minutes long and held once each week. Parents are encouraged to attend along with their child in the initial weeks of lessons.

New students may schedule a free half-hour trial lesson. Following the trial lesson, lessons may be continued on a month-to-month basis. Tuition is billed in advance of each month at a rate of $35 per week and includes seasonal recitals.

Pre-K music students may advance to individual piano or voice lessons or join PPAC’s musical theatre programs at age 5, or sooner if recommend by their teacher.
